Since we opened in 2014, we’ve felt part of a real resurgence in the Altrincham Market Quarter area, with plenty of brilliant businesses around us helping to give this area a real buzz.
Altrincham has always had a tradition of supporting independent businesses, and this can be seen in the vibrant new developments around Greenwood Street.
We absolutely love the food on offer around us; pretty much every taste is catered for – from the brilliant burgers and hot dogs of our neighbour Urban Burger Bar, to the hand-fired freshly made pizzas in Pix Pizza, there’s no shortage of choice and quality.
The market itself has been a tremendous success, showcasing some fantastic independent traders – especially the equally brilliant Honest Crust Pizza, who remain a solid favourite of diners across Cheshire, proving that you needn’t settle with chain restaurants when you can have incredible handmade Pizza right here.
We must also mention Liv’s Coffee, sited inside Altrincham’s hidden gem the Local Creation Art Gallery. Another reason to skip the chains and franchises – Liv’s Coffee makes the most beautiful vegan coffee, complete with stunning latte art. If you haven’t taken the time to visit yet, make a point of going in next time you’re in town.
Altrincham Market Quarter – Not just food and drink!
But it’s not just food on offer around Greenwood St – previously vacant lots have been snapped up by indepedent retailers keen to prove the economy is booming in the Market Quarter. Madame Butterfly offers beautiful clothing, stunning jewellery, and accessories, while With Decorum is the place to go if you’re after the perfect piece of furniture or home accessories.
The whole of the Market Quarter area has undergone real change over the past couple of years, and we’re proud to be a part of it – when we started Riddles, we never dreamt that the great people of Altrincham would take us into their hearts as much as they have. It’s your support and custom that is helping this whole area to thrive and really become something special – and we love being a part of it. If you want Altrincham to keep getting better and better, keep doing what you’re doing. Support your local independents – given how brilliant they are, you’re in for a treat.
